THE EVENT

What time should I arrive?

The Ball starts at 6:30pm on Saturday 26th November 2022. The address is 1 Old Billingsgate Walk (Riverside, 16 Lower Thames St, London EC3R 6DX

What is the dress code?

Black tie.

What can I expect at the Ball?

Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception followed by a delicious three-course dinner with fine wines. Throughout the night there will be spectacular first-class entertainment, along with a fantastic live and silent auction featuring money-can't-buy prizes, and an auction of wishes which will provide guests with the opportunity to directly fund the wishes of children.

The Ball will be hosted by TV star Stephen Mulhern, and include awe-inspiring performances from cast members of Disney’s THE LION KING and the House Gospel Choir. The night will be topped off with an incredible set from Bananarama!

YOUR ACCOUNT

How do I register?

You sign up when you first buy a ticket, place a bid or make donation, or you can click on Sign Up. You will be asked to enter your email and mobile so that we can contact you with further event updates or if you win an auction item.

Can I edit my profile?

Yes, you can change any of your contact details at any point. Simply click on Your Account and you can then edit your details as well as see all your transactions / activity.

AUCTION

How do I make a bid?

Click on Auction Items, select the item you want to bid on and click PLACE BID. This will take you into that particular item for you to see more information. Enter your desired bid amount and click PLACE BID. If you are not signed in the you will be asked to do so.

How do I know if I have been outbid?

Click on Your Account and then you will see which items you have bid on as well as the status of your bid. You will also be sent a text message and email should another guest outbid you.

What do I do if I want to retract a bid?

When does the auction close?

The auction closes at 11pm on Saturday 26th November 2022.

How do I know if I won an item?

When the auction closes, if you have won an item, you will be sent a text and email notification with a confirmation of your winning bid and a payment link. Please make your payment as soon as possible. All cards accepted except American Express.

If you haven't paid within seven days of the auction closing we will offer the item to the next highest bidder - if you are unable to make payment within this time scale please let us know as soon as possible so we can work around it.

Some items have reserve prices on at the request of the donor.

Do the items have provenance?

All items have been donated to Make A Wish in order to raise valuable funds.

When will items be sent out?

Delivery of prizes will be arranged between Make A Wish and the winner. The winner is required to pay the delivery fees.

DONATIONS

How do I make a donation?

Click on Donate, select your desired option, enter the amount you want to donate and click Next. You will need to be signed in to process your donation. You will be sent a confirmation email to confirm your donation and the transaction will also appear within Your Account too.

PRIZE DRAW

How do I enter the prize draw?

Click on the ‘Prize Draw’ menu option. If entering via the free entry route, see point below for detailed instructions. If entering via the paid entry route, you’ll need to select the number of tickets you wish to purchase using the + and – icons. You will need to be signed in to process your transaction and will be asked for payment information to confirm your order.

Both the free and paid method of entering the prize draw, requires you to accept our terms and conditions.

Can I enter for free?

Yes, you can enter for free via post but you will not be supporting Make-A-Wish to grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children. If you would like to enter by post, please write your full name, email address and contact number under the title ‘ Make-A-Wish UK Free Prize Draw’ on a blank sheet of paper or postcard and send it with sufficient postage to Make-A-Wish UK, Seventh Floor, Thames Tower, Station Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 1LX. Please ensure postal entries are received by Monday 21st November to ensure the postal entry is included within the draw. This needs to be written down in very clear writing, otherwise the entry may be deemed invalid.

A maximum of one entry can be made per postcard or envelope received. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be made this way. Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize. If the above steps are not followed as described then a postal entry will be invalid. You will not be notified if your entry is invalid. Postal entries are treated in exactly the same way as paid entries for the purposes of determining a winner. However, there is a difference in the deadlines for entries. (See below).

What are the closing dates for entering?

The entry close date for the paid entry route is 26/11/22. The cut-off for postal entries is receipt by 17:00 on 21/11/22.

How do I know if I have won or lost?

The draw is made using a system generated random number generator. Once the draw has taken place, you will be sent a notification by email and text to let you know if you have a winning ticket or not. The draw will be made on 26/11/22.

I reside outside of Great Britain. Can I enter? I’m under 18 years old. Can I enter?

The Prize Draw is only open to individual entrants who are at least 18 years of age and resident in Great Britain. Entrants residing in Northern Ireland, the British Isles or the Channel Islands are not eligible to enter. Companies / organisations are not eligible to enter.

Is there a limit to how many entries I can buy?

There is no limit, but we encourage and support responsible participation at all times.

Can I see what tickets I have purchased?

Yes, simply click on 'Your Account' and you will be able to see the tickets you have purchased.
